Day 1 Manaʻo for Cohort Waikolu March 16, 2026

Participants gathered together for the opening day of Cohort Waikolu in the Kiawe wing of Bachman Hall.

Mahalo everyone for joining us today during our first day of Cohort Waikolu! It’s been wonderful so far reconnecting with folks, meeting new friends, and perhaps checking in on one another in the aftermath of our passing Kona front storm.

One thing staying with me after our morning together is how pilina can take on so many different shapes and forms: gardens can ground us to new homes, or seeds can hitch rides on our bodies and grow into new possibilities. I am so inspired to continue expanding my own interpretation of pilina throughout this week as we continue to deepen our pilina with one another!

Mahalo to my wonderful team for making today possible, and to my fellow Pilina Circle co-facilitators for being so amazing this morning: Truc, Nick, Lingie, Kawehi, and Timmy!
