Music Week at WCC May 5-8

Students in Hawai‘i Music Institute classes at Windward Community College will perform in a weeklong series of Spring Concerts at Palikū Theatre. Special musical guests will join students in some of the concerts. Free admission; donations appreciated. Ample free parking.

Piano Program Concert
Tuesday, May 5, 7:00 p.m.
Piano students under the direction of So Jin Kimura will perform solos, duets, trios, and quartets. Students from the Piano 1, 2, 3, and 4 classes will entertain with music from the classical through modern periods. For more information, contact So Jin Kimura at 236-9145 or sochong@hawaii.edu.

Hawaiian Music Night

Solo and ensemble performances by students from Professor Ron Loo’s Kī Hoʻalu (Slack Key) guitar class and Kaʻala Carmackʻs Voice class. Special appearance by students from the Introduction to Hawaiian Music class taught by Kaʻala Carmack and assisted by Teresa Bright playing indigneous Hawaiian instruments while singing with WCC Choir and Voice students.

An Evening of Solo Voice and Choral Music
Friday, May 8, 7:00 p.m.
Music performed by vocal students of Ka‘ala Carmack. An eclectic program of various styles from Elizabethan music through popular, and from folk songs to Broadway.
