Leeward Community College (LCC) will host a presentation by Pete Docter, an animation director at Pixar Animation Studos, on Thursday, February 19, at 7 p.m. in the Leeward Community College Theatre. Docter will share his experiences about working at Pixar and in the animation industry. His talk will be followed by a 30-minute question and answer session. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Docter, who is a three-time Academy Award nominee, is on a two-day residency at LCC. He will conduct a series of digital media workshops for University of Hawaiʻi students in the LCC Digital Media Lab.

Along with writers John Lasseter and Andrew Stanton, Docter developed the concept and characters for the Pixar/Disney computer animated feature film, "Toy Story." He also helped write and storyboard the film, and became supervising animator on the project.
