The University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa College of Education has been ranked in the top third graduate schools of education in the nation. The college was 65th out of 177 schools ranked by U.S. News & World Report, 2014 edition.
For more than a decade, the College of Education has made it into the top 50 to 100 teacher preparation schools category. The college continues to rank among the top external funding recipients for research, having been awarded more than $36 million in contracts and grants in 2012. The college was also one of the top 100 online education programs in 2012.
"The College of Education has consistently been in the top tier of programs in the nation, recognizing the exceptional work of our faculty in serving the education needs of the state and region. This latest ranking recognizes our efforts to improve educational outcomes for all our students," said Dean Don Young.
A recent American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) report showcased the quality of teacher preparation programs in the nation, and the College of Education’s programs proved to be aligned with the report’s findings.
