HONOLULU — The University of Hawaiʻi Advisory Presidential Selection Committee will meet on Tuesday, February 17, 1-3 p.m. at Bachman Hall 113 on the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa campus. The agenda includes feedback from the listening tours held in January, a statement of the presidential selection criteria, and the announcement of a website to track the progress of the search.

The committee will begin its formal review of applications and nominations of candidates on February 20 to succeed David McClain as president of the University of Hawaiʻi System. McClain has led the 10-campus system since 2004; his term of appointment concludes on July 31, 2009.

"This is an exciting time for University of Hawaiʻi as we select a new leader who will work with the 10 campuses and the communities throughout our island state to craft new vision through which the university will continue to realize its potential and become a truly high performing system of higher education," said Donna Tanoue, chair of the 12-member selection committee.

The presidential selection website is available at www.hawaii.edu/president and will provide up-to-date information on the progress of the search. The website provides potential candidates with information about the university and the search process. Other features include a calendar of the selection process timeline, agendas and meeting minutes, listening tour comments and a feedback mechanism for those who have input for the committee.
