UH Hilo to resume business on August 16; Orientation Week activities rescheduled

HILO, Hawaii - University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo officials today announced that the campus will be in full operation beginning Thursday, August 16, 2007. UH Hilo and Hawaiʻi Community College closed on August 14 and 15 due to Hurricane Flossie.Several offices at UH Hilo are currently open, however, to assist students participating in Orientation Week. The Admissions Office is open for advising, and the Student Health Center is open. Both offices will remain open until 4 p.m. today. Also, students who still need to register for fall classes may do so today until 4 p.m. in UCB 103, 104 and 105 computer labs. For Orientation Week schedule changes, please note the following taking place on Thursday, August 16:* Math Placement Exam (added test time): 9 a.m.- 3 p.m., UCB 101 & 102
* General Advising Sessions (general education, graduation requirements, transfer issues): 10-11:15 a.m. for new students, UCB 114; 10-11:15 a.m. for transfer/returning students , UCB 112; 2-3 p.m. for new, transfer, returning students, UCB 100
* Peer Assistant Linkages & Support (PALS) Orientation & Advising: 11:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m., Campus Center 301

* Luʻau Under the Stars: meet at Campus Center turn-around at 2:45 p.m. for shuttles to ʻImiloa Astronomy Center tour; luʻau will be held in the Campus Center Dining Room
