HONOLULU - The University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa College of Business has received a $120,000 gift from Young Brothers Limited / Hawaiian Tug & Barge to assist students participating in the Executive Neighbor Island MBA (E-NIMBA) program.

Starting Fall 2006, the E-NIMBA Young Brothers / Hawaiian Tug & Barge Scholarship Fund will provide approximately 10 scholarships every two semesters through Summer 2008 to Executive Neighbor Island MBA students. Scholarship recipients must be Neighbor Island residents and will be chosen based on their grade point average and financial need. "We are extremely grateful for Young Brothers / Hawaiian Tug & Barge scholarship support," says Vance Roley, Dean of the UHM College of Business. "We share a common vision in helping Neighbor Island students obtain a quality MBA so that they can one day make valuable contributions in their own communities."

"This is critically important for the future of the neighbor islands‘ businesses and economies," said Young Brothers and Hawaiian Tug & Barge President Glenn Hong. "We‘re extremely proud to support the neighbor islands and assist in the development of professional managers. We are continuing our commitment to supporting neighbor island communities," Hong continued.

The E-NIMBA is a three-year, part-time, AACSB accredited MBA program geared toward individuals who have shown leadership or management potential. The goal of the program is to provide participants with a competitive edge in analytical, human resource and decision-making skills for a managerial position within today's dynamic global economy.

The E-NIMBA program enables students to expand their business perspectives, build professional networks and earn their MBA degrees—all without leaving home.
