Looking for a break from the Black Friday shopping frenzy? The Oʻahu Worm Ohana and the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resilience (CTAHR) are inviting the community to trade store aisles for worm bins at the Worm Ohana Harvest Party, a free, festive and family-friendly activity on November 28.
Now in its fourth year, the harvest helps working worms by separating them from nutrient-rich vermicast (worm castings). All Oʻahu Worm Ohana members are encouraged to volunteer. Participants will join the “volunteer crew” to help with the harvesting process.
- When: Friday, November 28, 9–11 a.m.
- Where: Magoon Womery, 2727 Woodlawn Dr., Honolulu
- RSVP: https://go.hawaii.edu/mvk
The worm harvest is presented by the Oʻahu Worm Ohana, CTAHR and the Sachuruna Foundation.
