UH Hilo College of Business and Economics awarded extended accreditation
University of Hawaiʻi at HiloThe University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo College of Business and Economics recently was awarded an extended accreditation in business by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). CoBE was first accredited in 2005. It remains part of a network of top business schools worldwide with only six percent achieving AACSB accreditation.
“The entire process was a team effort and success could not have been possible without countless hours of work from the CoBE faculty and staff,” noted Dr. Todd Inouye, director, CoBE. “Thinking about how far we have come over the past three years makes me extremely proud to be a member of this college and university community.
“At a time when so many things are uncertain, it is reassuring to know that our students, faculty and staff have a solid foundation to work from,” he added. “Now our attention can be directed from building foundations to also growing our societal impact, enrollment and retention, including new initiatives at CoBE.”
AACSB International accreditation requires schools to demonstrate excellence in teaching, learning, innovation, research, and continuous improvement.
CoBE is one of only two business schools in Hawaiʻi accredited by AACSB International. CoBE offers degree programs in Accounting and General Business, and concentrations in Applied Economics, Finance, Healthcare Management, Management, Marketing, and Professional Studies.
