What: UH West Oʻahu held its first in-person commencement ceremonies since Fall 2019. It featured two ceremonies: The morning ceremony, which featured 78 graduates, started at 9 a.m. for Business Administration and Applied Science candidates.

The afternoon ceremony, which featured 82 graduates, began at 1 p.m. for Creative Media, Cybersecurity, Education, Humanities, Natural Science, Public Administration, and Social Sciences candidates. 

Graduates received diploma covers, took an official photo, and received makana (gift) items.UH West Oʻahu followed federal, state, county, and UH guidelines at the event.

Who: More than 300 students received degrees in Fall 2021. UH West O‘ahu graduates received their baccalaureate degrees in Applied Sciences and Business Administration in the morning ceremony, Creative Media, Cybersecurity, Education, Humanities, Natural Science, Public Administration and Social Sciences in the afternoon ceremony.

Graduates also received certificates in various programs including Applied Forensic Anthropology, Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management, Gender Studies, Health Care Administration, Music, Risk Management and Insurance, and Substance Abuse and Addictions Studies.

Note: UH West Oʻahu also produced a virtual commencement ceremony, which featured keynote speaker Candy Suiso.
