Applications for the University of Hawaiʻi fall 2022 semester are now open. As in 2020, SAT/ACT scores are not required for admission. UH Mānoa will continue to take a holistic approach to reviewing applications due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Applications open as UH Mānoa just posted its largest enrollment increase since 2003 in the fall 2021 semester, a 6% jump compared to fall 2020.

To assist students interested in attending UH Mānoa, the Office of Admissions has events planned throughout the year, geared specifically for prospective students, as well as admitted students. Throughout the year, events such as virtual Application Days are open to students interested in applying where an admissions counselor will help walk them through the application process.  If a student is not able to attend, Admissions also has a tutorial application video available for students.

On October 30, prospective students, including transfer students, and their parents are invited to connect with UH Mānoa departments and programs through Explore Mānoa. Students have the opportunity to learn more about programs that interest them and connect with a multitude of academic and student support services.

“Our teams are ready to serve as a resource for prospective Mānoa students as they prepare their applications and transition from high school, or another college campus to UH Mānoa,,” said Ryan Yamaguchi of the UH Mānoa Office of Admissions. “These events are a great way to meet our future students and give them a chance to start their journey with any assistance they may need.”

The priority application deadline for the fall 2022 semester is January 5.

Along with the admissions process, prospective students are also encouraged to learn more about the financial aid opportunities available. The FAFSA opened on October 1, as well as the UH System Scholarship Common Application. The New Warrior Scholarships are included in this UH System Scholarship Common database, with even more scholarship opportunities available.

Approximately $64 million in scholarships and grants are available in 2022–23.
