UH Choirs: “Unclouded Day”

May 1, 2015, 7:30 pm

$5 – $12

This spring, the UHChoirs present a special program exploring the complex journey of choral music from the UK to the US mainland to our islands. The music is sacred and secular, “classical” and traditional, somber and celebratory. Throughout, however, the musicians sing words of hope, transformation, and celebration.

Featured composers include: from England’s rich tradition Gustav Holst and Ralph Vaughan Williams; from the US mainland William Schuman, Alice Parker, and Shawn Kirchner; and from our own islands HRH Queen Lili‘uokalani, Jon Magnussen, and Randie Fong. The concert also features guest conductor Dr. JD Burnett of the University of Georgia.
