The UH Contemporary Music Ensemble (Thomas Osborne, director) presents an evening of musical performances in honor of Professor Emerita Barbara B. Smith, who celebrates her 100th birthday this year. The founder of the UH-Mānoa ethnomusicology program, Professor Smith has created a lasting legacy through her teaching, scholarship and dedication to the arts, especially those of Asian and Pacific cultures. The concert features a stellar lineup of composers and performers who have shared connections with Prof. Smith, and highlights works written over the many decades she has served the University of Hawaiʻi and the global community.
