UH Contemporary Music Ensemble

The UH Contemporary Music Ensemble presents the music of our time, featuring music for Asian instruments, Western instruments, and even a work scored entirely for wine glasses. Five UH composition students will be highlighted on the program as well, each having composed short works especially for this concert.

PROGRAM

  • Elizabeth Brown: Two Shakuhachi Duos from Isle Royale
  • Viet Cuong: Water, Wine, Brandy, Brine for 4 players and 15 wine glasses
  • June Hee Lim: Dancing Sanjo II for gayageum, cello and piano
  • Missy Mazzoli: Vespers for Violin for violin and electronics
  • Nico Muhly: Doublespeak for mixed ensemble

Plus new works for solo piano by Rafael Amaral, Andrew Filson, James Finamore, Tyler Vallies and William Watson.

Tickets: $12 / $8  (no additional fees) / Music majors free

Music students: this concert is eligible for Mus 199 attendance credit
