SPRING SING: University Chorus & Chamber Singers

April 18, 2016, 7:30 pm

Hear two of the UHChoirs ensembles in the special Orvis Auditorium concert. The performance will be a short performance featuring works learned throughout the semester including for the collegiate choral festival, E Hīmeni Kākou. The program includes:

traditional, arr. Parker/Shaw, Saints Bound for Heaven
Schubert, Stabat Mater (excerpts)
traditional Tuvan, Alash
traditional Gospel, City Called Heaven
Irving Fine, Have you seen the white lily grow
Vaughan, Ka Huliau ‘Ana
Swayne, Dona nobis pacem from Missa Tiburtina
Noble, For You, A Lei
traditional Chinese, Mo li hua
Tomoana, Pokarekare
Smallwood, Total Praise

The concert also features the premiere of Midaregami by UHM graduate composer Megumi Kurachi and featuring mezzo-soprano Maya Hoover.

University Chorus, Dr. Alec Schumaker, director
Chamber Singers, Dr. Miguel Ángel Felipe, director

Tickets are $10 general admission, $6 students, UH faculty/staff (w/ID), seniors (65+). UHM music majors free.
