Trio Con Brio Copenhagen (Honolulu Chamber Music Series)
The HCMS season opens with a trio that the Washington Post says “clearly occupies a lofty perch in today’s musical scene.” The Korean- born sisters, violinist Soo-Jin Hong and cellist Soo-Kyung Hong, along with Soo-Kyung’s husband, Danish pianist Jens Elvekjaer, are known for bringing a fresh, contemporary approach to the core chamber music repertoire. Celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, this exciting ensemble plays a central role in Scandinavia’s vibrant contemporary music scene.
