Ewha Korean Music Orchestra
The Ewha Korean Music Orchestra was established out of a spirit of love and service connected to Jin (truth), Seon (Goodness), and Mi (Beauty) – the cardinal virtues guiding Ewha Women’s University. The outstanding individuals of Ewha Women’s University, who have devoted themselves to the research and development of Korean music together with Western music in general, participated in order to convey the beauty of the Korean tradition to the world. The Ewha Korean Music Orchestra aims to use each person’s unique musical talents for the sake of the goodness of society and to contribute to the development of culture and the arts worldwide through their musical activities. In the 21st century, the Ewha Korean Music Orchestra seeks to be not only the leading musical inheritor of the traditional culture and arts of Korea, but also to present newly-created compositions to contemporary audiences.
