Matthias Aranda

Graduate Assistant


Mr. Matthias “Matt” Aranda will serve as a graduate assistant at the University of Hawaii-Manoa Music Department. He graduated from the University of Idaho this past May with a BMus in cello performance and BA in international studies, with honors from the Martin Institute Honors Society. Matt has also completed a certificate program in Indonesian language and culture through the United States–Indonesia Society. His extensive music experience includes performances with the University of Idaho Symphony Orchestra, Gonzaga Symphony, Panhandle Symphony, Idaho-Washington Symphony, and he has received tutelage under renowned professors. He has worked professional jobs including playing cello for weddings, other private venues, and as a hired tenor. Having a strong foundation for language acquisition and cultural immersion through international experience in the Philippines and Indonesia, he is fluent in Tagalog, proficient in Indonesian, and currently studying Chinese.
