Opera Workshop MUS 415v
When: MWF, 2:30–3:20 pm
Where: Music Dept Room 36
Instructor: Prof. Larry Paxton & Prof. John Mount
Opera Workshop is focused on the study and performance of scenes from opera, operetta, and musical theatre and culminates in the staged performance of these scenes with costumes, makeup, simple sets, and lighting effects. Occasionally a full-length opera is produced.
The culmination of the course is a public performance of the prepared scenes in Orvis Auditorium toward the end of the semester. These opera workshop performances have been received with great enthusiasm by the community.
