Monash University is Australia’s largest university and is ranked in the world’s top 1% of universities – 84th in the world – according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings (2018-19). Every year, Monash hosts over 1000 Study Abroad and Exchange students coming from countries as diverse as England, USA, Germany, Japan, and Brazil. Students at Monash can choose to do just about any subject across their 10 faculties (departments), from arts and business to science and medicine.

Academic Details:

Monash University is all about choice. The university offers more than 6000 units (subjects) across 8 campuses in Australia (and Malaysia). You could study the aeronautics of Seahawk helicopters, Japanese linguistics, Australian Indigenous art and design, the economics of climate change, the challenges of child and youth development in third-world countries, and much more. Monash is also in the top one percent of business employability education providers. Monash is the only Group of Eight university with triple crown international business accreditation within the Faculty of Business and Economics, with AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA accreditation.

Housing Details:

If you’d like to be in the thick of it, if study is your main objective and you are not a fan of commuting, on-campus accommodation might be right for you. Living on campus in the halls of residence will immerse you in campus life. You’ll be shoulder-to-shoulder with other exchange students, international students, and domestic students, so you’ll make friends fast. The Halls Cafe is close by and offers budget friendly food that’s also Halal certified by the Monash University mosque. Life is fun in the halls with tons of social events and activities in which you can participate, and moving in is easy because your room is already furnished when you arrive. You can also take advantage of free TV, internet, and Foxtel (pay-tv). They’ll even wash your linen for you each week. Eligibility:

  • Sophomore standing
  • Completed at least two semesters at UHM (variable for postgraduates)
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA
