Check out what’s blooming at Lyon! Our 55-year-old Talipot Palm (Corypha umbraculifera) is finally flowering! Native to India and Sri Lanka, these monstrous palms are monocarpic – meaning they will only flower ONCE in their lifetime. They also have the world’s LARGEST inflorescence! Come see this blooming treasure – stop by our Visitor’s Center to get a special informational brochure with a map to the palm. Open M-F 8am-4pm, and Saturdays 9am-3pm (closed Sundays and holidays).
