Description: This class will cover the basics of a rain garden (what, why, and how), related landscape features (bioswales, detention/retention ponds, etc.), general hydrology (tying into water issues, watershed dynamics, hydrology, groundwater aquifers, etc.), and highlight some of the plants that should/shouldn’t be used. I will also discuss the possibility of (and potential problems with) growing edibles like kalo in such a system, and the use of grey water (benefits/problems/legal concerns).
