Fall Nature Camp at Lyon:

CLASS IS FULL – WAITLIST ONLY

Mohala ma ka Māla – Blooming in the Garden

This year, we will focus on the resources from our Beatrice Krauss Ethnobotanical Garden! Dr. Beatrice Krauss was a fierce advocate for the Hawaiian culture and her expertise in ethnobotany helped to guide the Arboretum to what it is today. She loved teaching , especially keiki. We will be teaching our nature camp keiki crafts using the canoe plants found in our garden such as hala weaving and other fun activities. We will also, or course, do our daily walks in the woods, go fishing to clear some of the invasive species from ʻAihualama Stream, and hike to the waterfall. We hope the keiki love of nature and crafts will be “blooming in the garden” after the camp!
