UHM Theatre alumnus Moses Goods has recently been awarded a Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowship to support the creation of a new theatrical piece, Two Ships, with the Honolulu Theatre for Youth. In the creation of this new work Goods will explore his dual Black and Polynesian cultural lineages, historical contexts and art forms, and the history of Black people in Hawai’i.
The Fox Foundation Resident Actor Fellowship provides an opportunity for recipients to advance their personal artistic development as well as that of their affiliated theatres and the communities that they serve.
According to the Fellowship Award announcement by TCG (Link to Full Text), “Moses is one of Hawaiʻi’s most prominent theatre artists. His career began in the University of Hawai‘i’s Department of Theatre and Dance in 1998. Since then he has traveled the globe performing his original work to a wide range of audiences. His body of work ranges from full length plays to theatrical storytelling pieces.”
