Our classrooms, rehearsal studios, theatres, and meeting spaces support a wide range of academic, artistic, and community activities throughout the year. Whether you're planning a rehearsal, class, workshop, meeting, audition, or special event, we're here to help you find the space that best meets your needs.

Use this page to explore room availability, review facility policies, submit reservation requests, and learn about scheduling procedures. Because our spaces serve multiple programs and events, reservations are managed to support the instructional, creative, and operational priorities of the Department of Theatre & Dance while providing opportunities for collaboration across the university and community.

RESERVATION POLICIES

Department of Theatre & Dance faculty, staff, and students may request the use of departmental spaces by completing the reservation request form linked below.

To help us accommodate your request, please submit reservations as early as possible. Please allow 24–48 business hours for confirmation. Requests submitted for same-day use require both the online reservation form and a direct email to the Production & Facilities Manager, Erin Breitenbach (ebreiten@hawaii.edu).

Please note that submitting a reservation request does not guarantee a booking. A space is considered reserved only after you receive a confirmation from the Department of Theatre & Dance.

THEATRE & EVENT RENTALS

Organizations and individuals outside the Department of Theatre & Dance who are interested in reserving departmental facilities should contact Production & Facilities Manager Erin Breitenbach at ktfacpm@hawaii.edu to discuss availability, rental procedures, and associated costs.

The department's instructional spaces and performance venues primarily support the academic mission of the Department of Theatre & Dance. Kennedy Theatre's Mainstage serves as the principal performance venue for the department's production season and functions as an essential teaching and learning environment for student productions, coursework, and degree requirements. As a result, availability for external rentals is limited.

Approved external reservations are subject to facility rental fees, staffing and labor costs, and University of Hawaiʻi policies and procedures. The reservation process includes an initial request, cost estimate, written agreement, and payment approval. To allow adequate time for processing and university authorizations, please submit requests at least 10–12 weeks before your desired event date.
