The Double Improv Rainbows is UHM’s first long-form improv team; the team was founded in spring 2014 by Timothy Callais, MFA Acting candidate in the Department of Theatre and Dance. Rooted in a free-flowing, Chicago-style of improvisation, the team recently made history for the state of Hawai’i by competing in the College Improv Tournament in San Francisco, winning 2nd place in the regional, and gaining recognition for the team’s theatricality and strong character relationships on stage. The team has been invited to participate in the annual San Francisco Improv Festival in September 2015, and is seeking funding for that travel.
