Sociolinguistics presentations in Australia, Summer 2024

Alumni, faculty, and graduate students from UHM linguistics presented at the 25th Sociolinguistics Symposium in Perth, Australia, June 24 – 27, 2024. Caroline Hendy (MA, 2021) and current PhD candidate Emma Breslow presented lexical sociolinguistic research on Jewish English in Australia and the United States, and Aya Inoue (PhD, 2008) and Amy Schafer presented research on processing Hawai’i Creole orthography at both SS25 and at Methods in Dialectology XVIII, in Melbourne, Australia.
