Research interests

My research assesses theoretical ecological concepts in degraded habitats to develop cost-effective strategies that facilitate forest recovery. I work in the Neotropics and have established large- and small-scale projects with collaborators and students from many institutions. Research includes testing applied nucleation and large vegetative cuttings (≥2 m tall) as restoration strategies; applying agricultural waste products to aid recovery; and assessing forest dynamics in smaller fragments.
