Gunnera petaloidea, 'ape'ape. Hawaiian endemic. These plants harbor a blue-green alga that is capable of fixing atmospheric nitrogen. This species has perfect flowers sometimes mixed with male and female flowers scattered throughout the inflorescence. | ||||
