In 2023, Bishop Museum malacologist Norine Yeung received the Maxwell/Hanrahan Field Biology Award for her work on Pacific Island land snails and conservation. This award honors field biologists whose research is transforming our understanding of biodiversity and conservation practice. Nori is Curator of Malacology at the B. P. Bishop Museum, where she supervises an incredible number of people of all ages in an equally incredible number of projects. Together with her husband Dr. Kenneth Hayes, she has brought well over 6 milli.on dollars in grants to the Museum and developed an outstanding record of public outreach.
