To welcome and celebrate his 100th birthday this past April, the Center for Japanese Studies (CJS) and Asia Collection showcases the life and contributions of Sen Sōshitsu, the 15th grand master of Urasenke Tea School, who has worked tirelessly to disseminate tea ceremonies globally and educate the UHM community throughout his life.

Dr. Sen and his 100 students visited this exhibit on July 21st and shared his memories at UH ever since 1952 when he first visited UH and started his lecture to our students.
