Manoa students selected for intensive language study in Japan

Raymond DeLang and Jake Yasumori, Japanese language majors in the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures, were selected as recipients of the 2017–18 Monbukagakusho Scholarship from the Japanese government’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). Brandy Dobson was chosen to be a 2017 Portz Scholar by the National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC), and receive the organization’s top prize for undergraduate honors students. Dobson was one of only four scholars selected throughout the country.
