Thank you for reading Kaunānā, the online research publication of the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa.
We chose the Hawaiian word meaning “to discover, perceive” as our title to convey both our connection with the islands and our commitment to the never-ending quest for scientific knowledge and discovery.
Our magazine was originally published in a print edition celebrating research across the University of Hawai’i system; however, since 2013, we are now publishing online and are focused on research and scholarly efforts connected with UH Mānoa. We hope you enjoy these articles and will continue to join us on our voyage of discovery.
Kaunānā is a project of the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research
