2022–2023 Recipient

The 2022–2023 Chancellor Virginia S. Hinshaw Scholarship in Sustainability is awarded to Kainoa Kester. Kainoa is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and a Certificate in Geospatial Information Science. A rising senior, Kainoa is from the North Shore of Oʻahu and attended Kahuku High School. “I have a passion for mapping and I’m excited to become professionally involved in the field. I’m very honored and thankful to have received the Hinshaw Scholarship this year.” Outside of academics, Kainoa enjoys athletics and cooking. Congratulations, Kainoa!

The Chancellor Virginia S. Hinshaw Scholarship in Sustainability is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student with demonstrated leadership and scholarly interest in sustainability.
