2023-2024 Hinshaw Scholarship winner Paelyn Benz

2023–2024 Recipient

The 2023–2024 Chancellor Virginia S. Hinshaw Scholarship in Sustainability is awarded to Paelyn Benz. Paelyn is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies-Sustainablity with a minor in Education. A rising senior, she is from Chagrin Falls, Ohio. “I care deeply about the well-being of our planet and future generations,” says Paelyn. “Since a young age, I have always known I wanted to be a teacher, so I hope to combine these two careers and teach young generations about the importance of respecting the planet. I am beyond appreciative to have received the Hinshaw Scholarship!” Outside of academics, Paelyn enjoys painting, reading, and spending time with loved ones.

The Chancellor Virginia S. Hinshaw Scholarship in Sustainability is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student with demonstrated leadership and scholarly interest in sustainability.
