On Friday, October 10, students from the Katipunan Club and the Timpuyog Organization showed their spirit for Mānoa’s Filipino Night, held during the Rainbow Wahine volleyball game against Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. The energy was instant, as many families engaged with our community, friends greeting friends, and a sea of Filipino decorations and photo opportunities at the main entrance inside of Stan Sherif, nodding to Filipino American History Month, or FAHM.

This night marked another showcase of Hawaii’s broad Filipino representation. Throughout the stands, you could spot students, faculty, and families, all cheering with the same pride—some for our Rainbow Wahine, some for FAHM, most for both. The atmosphere felt culturally rooted in Filipino traditions: a spotlight on our two guest speakers from the Timpuyog Organization and the Katipunan Club, music that represented Filipino heritage, and jumpotron cams that made the night fun.
