| About the Program For over six decades, U.S. alliances with Japan and the Republic of Korea have been underwriting stability and prosperity in Asia. Political and military leaders often describe the U.S.-Japan Alliance and the U.S.-Republic of Korea Alliance as ‘the cornerstone’ and ‘the linchpin’, respectively, of peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. Today, while the two alliances continue to serve their purpose, challenges abound. To help chart the strategic direction of these important relationships, next-generation Japanese, Korean and American leaders from academia, public policy, military, and industry, between the ages of 22 and 35, are invited to submit policy proposals that discuss specific issue-areas in U.S.-Japan-ROK relations, and to join an in-person dialogue in Tokyo in 2023.15-18 proposals will be chosen whose authors will form the 2022-2023 cohort of the U.S.-Japan-ROK Next Generation Leaders Initiative. Cohort members will be invited to join an in-person dialogue on trilateral cooperation in Tokyo in Spring 2023 and have the opportunity to publish an original op-ed piece in Pacific Forum’s PacNet Commentary serialization. They will also have opportunities to attend future conferences and workshops related to U.S.-Japan-ROK trilateral relations, and regional security, sponsored by Pacific Forum. This includes a 100-200 word abstract outlining the topic or argument you plan to adress in your prospective op-ed. Topics for consideration include: maritime security, cyber security, nuclear security and deterrence, strengthening trilateral alliance mechanisms, and collaboratively addressing emerging regional security challenges, among others. | 米国と日本、及び韓国との同盟関係は、60年以上に渡ってアジアの安定と繁栄を支えてきました。政治・軍事の指導者達の間でも、日米同盟と米韓同盟はインド太平洋地域の平和と安定の「礎」と「要」であると表現されています。この2つの同盟は今日までその目的を果たし続けていますが、一方で課題も山積しています。これらの重要な関係の戦略的方向性を示すため、22～35歳までの日韓米の学術・公共政策・軍事・産業界の次世代リーダーを対象に日米関係における特定の問題領域を議論する政策提案を募集し、また2023年に東京で開催される対談への参加を呼び掛けています！応募案の中から15～18の提案が採用され、その著者が2022-2023日米韓次世代リーダー育成プログラムの参加者となります。プログラム参加者は2023年春に東京で開催される日米韓三国協力に関する対談に招待されるほか、今後パシフィックフォーラムが主催する日米韓三国関係や地域安全保障に関する会議・ワークショップに参加する機会が得られます。応募締切 2022年11月30日(日本)お問い合わせは、オードリー・ハップ（audrey@pacforum.org）までお願いします。 |
| 지난 60년 간 미국의 일본 및 한국과의 동맹은 아시아의 안정과 번영을 보증해 왔다. 정치권 및 군사 지도자들은 인도태평양 전역의 평화와 안정에 대해 한미 동맹은 ‘근간’ (linchpin), 미일 동맹을 ‘주춧돌’(cornerstone) 이라는 점을 강조해왔다. 현재 각 동맹은 계속해서 목표를 상당히 달성하고 있으나 겪고 있는 어려움이 여전히 많다. 이러한 중요한 관계의 전략적 계획 수립을 촉진하기 위해, 22~35세의 한국, 일본 및 미국의 학계와 공공정책, 군사 및 산업계 등에 종사하는 다양한 차세대 리더들이 미일 관계의 주요 사안에 대한 정책 제안서를 모집하고자 한다.선정할 15~18건 제안서의 저자들은 2022~2023년 U.S.-Japan-ROK Next Generation Leaders Initiative의 구성원으로 선정될 예정이며 2023년 봄 도쿄에서 개최될 한미일 3국 협력에 관한 대면 간담회에 초대될 예정이다. 또한, 퍼시픽 포럼이 후원하는 향후 한미일 3국 관계 및 지역 안보 관련 회의 및 워크숍에도 참석할 수 있는 기회가 주어진다.지원마감일: 2022년 11월 30일 (일본/한국 시간기준)문의사항 있으실 경우 담당자 이메일(Audrey Happ: audrey@pacforum.org)로 문의 바랍니다. |
