Welcome to High-Speed Aerothermodynamics Laboratory!
The High-Speed Aerothermodynamics Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa is an experimental laboratory, specialized in the research and development of the aerothermodynamics phenomena and the advancing optical flow diagnostics for high-speed flying vehicles suffering from severe heating loads due to the shock-wave/shock-wave and shock-wave/boundary-layer interactions, the hypersonic boundary-layer transition. Our research focuses especially on transient and unsteady fluid phenomena.
