Lottery Process (April 6th, 2020)
The Lottery Process will take place on Monday, April 6th. All renewal eligible students will be sent an identification and round number to their UH email. Identification numbers are computer-generated and randomly assigned to each student. This number will determine the time slot (round), when a lottery number will be selected for each student. On Monday, Student Housing Services will have a live stream video available for eligible renewal students to watch as our staff pulls a lottery number for each student. After the lottery pull process has concluded all eligible students will receive an email from Student Housing Services with their assigned lottery number.
LOTTERY ROUNDS ON MONDAY, APRIL 6th
ROUND 1: 9:30am – 11:00am HST
ROUND 2: 11:30am – 1:00pm HST
ROUND 3: 1:30pm – 3:00pm HST
What is the purpose of an identification number?
Since the lottery number selection may be viewed by others, the purpose of receiving an identification number is to keep each student’s personal information, such as your name, anonymous.
How can I watch the live stream video?
Eligible students will be emailed a Google Hangouts link. The link will allow students to watch the lottery pull process.
What will happen during a lottery round?
During each lottery round, eligible students will be able to watch as our staff pulls lottery numbers for each identification number.
What will happen after a lottery number is selected?
After the lottery rounds are completed, residents will receive an email with their assigned lottery number.
How will the actual room/apartment selection process be done?
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it is anticipated that the selection process, which has been an in-person event, will also be done online. Detailed information on that part of the Renewal process will be forthcoming.
