Student Housing Contract Acceptance & Payment

After you are assigned to a residence hall or apartment, a housing contract and invoice will be emailed to your hawaii.edu email. To accept the assignment offer, you must return the signed contract and payment by the due date indicated on your invoice.

Provided below are payment highlights. You will be required to adhere to ALL of the payment terms and conditions as stated in your housing contract and invoice.

A. PAYMENT TERMS

Housing charges and payments, like tuition and fees, are split by semesters or terms.

You have two payment options to accept your housing contract:

  1. Pay in full; $100 of your payment will be applied as a security deposit.
  2. Pay a minimum payment of $400; $100 of which will be applied as a security deposit.
    1. This minimum payment is REQUIRED even if you will be receiving financial aid, scholarship or grant money to pay for your room and board.

 

B. METHOD OF PAYMENT TO ACCEPT YOUR CONTRACT

Payment Methods (Do NOT mail cash):

  1. Online Credit Card – Follow the instructions on the link below. You will be required to sign your housing contract before you are directed to this payment site.

  2. In Person – Bring your signed housing contract and payment to the Student Housing Services Cashier’s Office at Frear Hall, 2569 Dole Street, 8:00AM-4:00PM
  3. Check (US dollars, payable to UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII). All mailed checks must be received, not postmarked, by Student Housing’s Cashier by the due date.
  4. Electronic payments – (For domestic and local payments) – A copy of your payment transaction must be sent to Student Housing by your payment deadline.

C. METHOD OF PAYMENT FOR THOSE WITH A HOUSING BALANCE

If you did not pay for your full housing and/or university charges, these are the options for paying your balance.

  1. Full payment of your housing balance by a deadline set by the university. See www.hawaii.edu/payment for details.
    1. Payments for housing charges must be paid:
      1. In person at the Student Housing Services office
