Brayden Bulloch

Brayden is a third-year PhD student in accounting at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research focuses on tax-related topics, with interest in auditor-provided tax services as well as real effects of taxation on operational decisions. He is particularly interested in exploring new and unique data to answer tax questions. In his free time, Brayden enjoys golfing, hiking, camping, watching sports, and spending time with his wife and son.

Blake Canziani

Blake is a fourth-year Ph.D. student at the University of Florida. His primary research area is audit archival, specifically relating to audit quality and audit firm resources. He is also interested in the incentives, methods, and consequences of strategic behavior within and beyond the audit profession. Prior to entering his Ph.D. program, he gained professional experience as a Senior Associate within the audit practice of KPMG in Los Angeles, California. In his spare time, he enjoys playing music or relaxing at home with his wife and two cats.

Tian Chen

Tian is a third-year PhD student at Northwestern University. Her research interests include disclosure regulations, the social impact of information, auditing, and banking. Outside of school, she enjoys traveling, running, and exploring new restaurants.

Yingfeng Ge

Yingfeng is a third-year Ph.D. student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Her research interests include financial reporting, voluntary disclosure, corporate governance, and peer effects. Yingfeng enjoys traveling, reading, and watching movies in her spare time.

Matthias Huber

Matthias is a first-year Ph.D. student at HEC Paris. His research interests lie in financial accounting, including sustainability reporting, transparency, governance, and regulation. Prior to his PhD he was engaged in research assistance positions at LMU Munich and ESSEC Business School. In his spare time, he enjoys playing football, chess, and long-distance running.

Johanna Jost

Johanna is a third-year PhD student at the Department of Accounting at Copenhagen Business School. Her research focuses on how socialization and early-life experiences shape financial decisions. She works on topics such as the gender gap, financial education, and financial literacy, and how these influence accounting practices. She uses both empirical archival and experimental methods. Outside of research, Johanna loves spending time outdoors with her little son and partner, embracing adventures in nature.

Huidong Kim

Huidong Kim is a fourth-year Accounting Ph.D. candidate at Seoul National University. His research interests include disclosure, international, and macroaccounting studies. In his free time, he enjoys jogging, traveling, and playing soccer.

Jonas Lee

Jonas is a fourth-year PhD student at the University of Michigan. He is interested in financial reporting, particularly determinants and consequences. In his spare time, he enjoys trading on prediction markets and cooking.

Minah Lee

Minah is a third-year Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Connecticut. Her research interests include merger and acquisition, corporate disclosures, and executive compensation. In her spare time, she enjoys CrossFit, reading mystery novels, and cooking.

Xiangyu Li

Xiangyu is a third-year Ph.D. student at the University of Southern California. Her research interests include debt contracting, auditing, and disclosure. Prior to joining USC, she spent her undergraduate years at HKUST. Outside of research, Xiangyu is an enthusiastic runner and music lover.

Hunter Ng

Hunter Ng is a third-year Accounting Ph.D. Student at Baruch College, City University of New York. Prior to joining the Ph.D. Program, he was in the Fintech Division at the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Cloud Computing Division in Fujitsu, Tokyo. His current research energies are in understanding how large language models affect information flow to investors. He taps on his full-stack development knowledge to work on fringe topics in cryptocurrencies, political economy and advanced character recognition software. Outside of research, he does 3D-printing, floral arrangements and cocktail-mixing.

Saverio Olivito

Saverio Olivito is a second-year Ph.D. student in accounting at the University of Zurich. His research focuses on sustainability reporting, biodiversity, and sustainable value creation. He is passionate about understanding the impact of companies on nature and how they can enhance sustainability through responsible financial practices. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, reading books, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.

Brianna De La Osa

Brianna is a second-year Ph.D. student at the University of Miami. Her research interests are corporate governance, with particular interest in short-seller activism, and the real effects of disclosure regulations. Prior to joining the PhD program she worked alongside her family at a boutique accounting firm in Coral Gables, Florida, where they provided specialized accounting and tax services to individuals and small businesses. When not thinking about research she enjoys wakeboarding, scuba diving, and spending quality time with her nephews!

Carter Sampson

Carter is a third-year PhD student at the University of Washington. His research explores the role of disclosure in municipal finance and labor economics. He grew up in Tempe, Arizona before earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting at the University of Oklahoma. Carter enjoys baking desserts, reading fiction, and playing any team sport.

Christina Seymour

Christina Seymour is a third-year Ph.D. candidate at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Her research interests center on accounting-related judgments and decisions, particularly those of managers in financial or managerial accounting contexts. Prior to joining the Ph.D. program, Christina worked as an auditor and in various finance/accounting roles at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Christina enjoys reading, watching baseball and cricket, and cooking and baking in her spare time.

Tianyi Wang

Tianyi is a second-year Ph.D. student in accounting at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interests lie in the judgment and decision-making processes of accounting-related stakeholders, including but not limited to auditors, investors, and managers, and he primarily utilizes a lab experiment approach. Before starting his Ph.D. program, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in professional accounting at Peking University, China. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, concerts, and exploring new wonders in daily life.

Wenxin Wang

Wenxin is a third-year PhD student in Accounting and Management at Harvard Business School. Her research interests focus on how firms incorporate algorithms into formal management control systems, as well as the role of both formal and informal systems in fostering and amplifying employee voice. Methodologically, she is interested in employing techniques such as machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) to extract insights from novel datasets and conducting field research. In her spare time, Wenxin enjoys working out, exploring new restaurants, and watching movies.

Yuanzhe Zhang

Yuanzhe is a fourth-year PhD student at the University of Rochester. Her research interests primarily lie in financial accounting, with a focus on the intersection of accounting issues with politics, financial intermediaries, and disclosure. When she’s not conducting research, she enjoys traveling, cooking, dancing, and music.
