Advisory Councils

Two advisory councils provide overall guidance to Hā Kūpuna: the Native Advisory Council (NAC) and the Partner Organizations Advisory Council (POAC). The Native Advisory Council is comprised of Native Hawaiian leaders and provides guidance on the cultural competency of the Center’s activities. The Partner Organizations Advisory Council is comprised of community leaders representing organizations serving older adults in Hawai`i and ensures that the Center is anchored in community-driven priorities. We also are supported by University of Hawai‘i representatives from the Center on Aging and the President’s Native Hawaiian Affairs Office.

Native Advisory Council

The Native Advisory Council (NAC) is comprised of renowned Native Hawaiian leaders. The NAC provides guidance on the cultural competence of the Center’s goal, objectives and interventions. The members also facilitate the dissemination of information to native networks.
