UH Library Workshop: Citation Enhanced Searching (Hybrid Event)

September 14, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm HST

Web of Science is a multidisciplinary database that covers high quality journals with citation information. Citation information is used both to evaluate the importance of articles and to search for relevant articles. This workshop is aimed at graduate students who want to learn how to find the most important journals in their field, the most cited papers for their topics, and how to use citation tracing to comprehensively search for articles. Topics covered will include: an overview of Web of Science, citation basics, identifying top cited articles, citation tracing, evaluating journals with Journal Impact Factor, and creating citation alerts. This workshop is co-sponsored by the UH Mānoa Library. For questions about topics covered, please email sciref@hawaii.edu.

*Note – this is a hybrid workshop and WILL NOT be recorded. Limited in-person seats are available. If the UH Library is able to reserve a space for you to attend in-person, you will receive details via email a few days prior to the event on requirements in order to attend.
