Started in 1971, Hawaiʻi English Language Program (HELP) is a program of the world-renowned Department of Second Language Studies at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, the main campus of the state university system.

Our facilities are located in Moore Hall of UH Manoa campus, near Hamilton Library and Paradise Palms Campus Food Court. HELP students have ready access to all the resources of the university, including the libraries and computer labs. Students attend classes in UHM classrooms around the campus. We have a Student Lounge just for HELP students in Moore Hall, where students can relax when not in class, borrow books from the student library, or just have lunch or a snack. The entire UHM campus has complete high-speed wireless internet connectivity for students with their own laptops and mobile devices.

Our location on the park-like UH campus also offers easy access to Honolulu’s many attractions. The lovely beaches, green mountains, and cultural, entertainment, and shopping centers are within easy walking distance or by public transport.

With all these advantages, we think you’ll agree that there is no better place to learn and use English than here at HELP in beautiful Hawaiʻi!

Visitor Parking – Pay-to-Park

Visitors parking on campus between 6:30am and 4:00pm can park in the GREEN Pay-to-Park stalls. The closest lots to the HELP Front Office are next to the Korean Studies building and at the Biomedical Sciences building. Payment is made at the automated Pay Stations located near the stalls in each lot. You must pre-pay for the amount of time you expect to be parked. Pre-paid parking costs $3.00 per half-hour increments and is limited to a 3-hour maximum before 4:00pm on weekdays. The Pay Stations accept credit cards (MasterCard and Visa). No refunds are issued for these machines.

At the Pay Station, you will receive a permit ticket that shows when your parking time expires. You must display the permit ticket on your car dashboard. Make sure the expiration time is visible through the windshield.

The purchase of a Pay-to-Park daily visitor permit from an automated Pay Station will allow parking and re-entry into any visitor lot on campus for the entire unexpired time.

After 4:00 pm and until 8:00 pm, visitor parking is a flat rate of $7. For more information about visitor parking, please visit the UH Commuter Services webpage.

Lower Campus Parking Structure – Day Rate

The Lower Campus parking structure costs $5 on Monday – Fridays between 5am-4pm. You must purchase a Zone 20 parking ticket for $5 from the guard gate as you enter from Dole Street. The ticket must be displayed on your dashboard when you park.
