This presentation includes information on how our students, faculty, and staff can remain active participants in campus safety. The Safety & Wellness Workshop is based on the dual concept of eliminating or minimizing opportunities for crime, while providing helpful guidance for students and employees to assume responsibility for the safety of themselves and others by taking common precautions. During this workshop, participants will:
- Learn about services offered by DPS
- Discuss campus safety tips for students, faculty, and staff
- Learn about common crime prevention measures that can be taken to increase safety on campus
- Engage with DPS staff to learn about campus safety
Throughout the academic year, UHM DPS offers these safety awareness presentations at New Student Orientation sessions, Student Housing resident orientation, community events, and to various other campus groups by request, including faculty/staff departments. UHM DPS also works closely with the Women’s Center and Mānoa Alcohol Project (MAP) to provide additional support for students and employees.
