4-H STEAM Day with National Guard Child & Youth Program

4-H Military Partnerships focuses on positive youth development through providing opportunities for youth to engage in intentional learning experiences. We have been partnering with the National Guard Child and Youth Program for many years to offer 4-H hands on activities.  STEM and STEAM have been a topic of interest.  On February 22nd, the Hawaii Military 4-H program hosted the CYP group for a day of connecting art and science.  Youth engaged in wearable art activity that used circuitry and art.  Youth were encouraged to use the engineering design method to test out adding lights and design to their creations.  The end result was a creative variety of wearable art pieces.
