Board approves parking rate increase

Zone 20 Lower Campus Parking Structure

The University of Hawaiʻi Board of Regents voted to pass the parking rate increase with two additions at their October 18 meeting. President David Lassner offered to follow through on a proposal by faculty to hold a task force of students, faculty and staff to look into different pricing structures. The second addition was that the administration will develop a plan that will incorporate future and alternative modes of transportation.

The rate increase will be effective in Fall 2019. This increase will help make essential improvements to the aging parking facilities on campus and extend the life of the current parking facilities for at least 20 years.

This is the first parking rate increase for at UH Mānoa in eight years, and just the second in 20 years.
