Parking

Campus parking for guests is free but limited on graduation day. Carpooling is strongly encouraged.

The road leading from the Wai‘alae gate entrance to the Stan Sheriff Center will be closed before and during the ceremony. The area near the ROTC buildings is reserved.

Parking is restricted in the areas behind the Stan Sheriff Center and around the Les Murakami Baseball Stadium. The parking lots in the Student Housing areas are restricted for permit holders only. Stalls marked with a Reserved Parking sign are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The lower campus parking structure is expected to fill up quickly. When the parking structure is full, drivers will be directed to park in the lots on the main campus. As each lot fills, the attendants will direct drivers to the next available lot. They will continue to do this until all lots are full.

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking stalls in the lower campus parking structure and in the main campus lots are limited. The majority of these accessible stalls are located on the third floor of the Diamond Head side of the lower campus parking structure. With the remaining accessible stalls distributed on each floor of the ʻEwa side of the lower campus parking structure and throughout the lots on the main campus. Parking attendants will be able to provide directions to drivers needing accessible parking. A valid Department of Transportation placard is required to park in these stalls.

Passenger Drop-Off and Pick-Up Areas

Graduates and participants should anticipate heavy traffic and plan accordingly for ample time to get to their designated staging area. Vehicle access around this staging area will be restricted and passenger drop off will not be allowed in this area.

The designated ADA passenger drop-off and pick-up area will be behind the Murakami Baseball Stadium in Zone 18. Signs will be posted to direct drivers to this area.

A secondary passenger drop-off area is the Bachman Hall parking lot – entrance is from University Avenue. Passengers will not be allowed to be dropped off in the Restricted Parking Area behind the Stan Sheriff Center. For concerns of safety, please do not drop off passengers in the middle of the road or along areas with heavy traffic.

We recommend students and guests arriving via taxi and ridesharing services be dropped off and picked up in the Bachman Hall parking lot – entrance is from University Avenue.

After the ceremony a passenger pick-up area is available in the parking lot on the first base side of the Les Murakami Baseball Stadium. Drivers may access this lot by informing the attendants that they will be picking up their passengers. Again, for safety concerns, please do not stop along the road during heavy traffic.
