Mr. Tschudi’s research interests include late-Qing fiction and traditional Chinese theater. Currently he is specializing in the instrumental music of Beijing opera (jingju) and has played both bangu and jinghu in UH productions of Beijing opera. In addition to managing the office of the Center for Chinese Studies, he is managing editor of the Center’s journal, China Review International.
