Professor Goldberg’s recent research has focused on an examination of the cultural formations upon which the artistic practices, theoretical aesthetic discourses, and institutional sites for the producation and dissemination of Chinese art are based. Specific attention is given to material expression and construction of identity, subjectivity and “voice” in Chinese painting and calligraphy. He is also currently working on An Annotated Index of Chinese Calligraphers and their Calligraphy in Publication.
