Accreditation

The Children’s Center is licensed by the State of Hawai’i and accredited by the credentialing body of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Accreditation acknowledges the Center as a high-quality program that meets or exceeds national standards of excellence in program practice, teacher qualifications, and child health and safety.

We receive acreditation through the credentialing academy of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Every five years, the Children’s Center undergoes a self-study process to determine how well the program meets the Academy’s criteria for a high quality early childhood program. Teachers, administrators, and parents are all part of this important process. Assessors come to observe the accuracy of the self-study results and a three-person NAEYC commission determines whether the Center should be reaccredited. Accreditation acknowledges the Center as a high-quality program that meets or exceeds nation standards of excellence in program practice, teacher qualifications, and child health and safety.
